Molly’s Picks of the Week!

Hi guys!

Hope you had a great weekend! I had a pretty fun one…highlight was probably breaking out my white jeans for the first time this spring! Woo!! I always know it’s almost summer when I start living in them. Make sure you stop into the store–we have this spring staple for both little and big girls! And in case you need styling suggestions, here’s a pic of me and my best friend Kaelin toasting summer with our ice pops last May…seriously, they’re timeless (the jeans and the ice pops…)!!

Image

Now onto my picks of the week…normally I wouldn’t choose two items that create an entire outfit, but this week I couldn’t resist. These items just screamed “PUT ME TOGETHER!!!!”

Fickle Long Sleeve Top with Cutout Shoulder, $68

Image

Okay, I realize this shirt looks a litttttle goofy not on an actual human…but trust me, it’s awesome. Obviously, this is a “wear every day” shirt (it’s super soft!), but I would also wear this with the skirt below for a night out. One of my biggest complaints when it comes to “going out” clothes is how uncomfortable they can be–well, this solves that problem! The “flowiness” (hmm…getting the red squiggle…apparently “flowiness” isn’t a word…well, it is today!) balances out the tight skirt and, frankly, makes it look like I’m not trying so hard. I mean, if you’re going to wear a glittery bright blue skirt (and I definitely want to!!!) I would suggest chilling a bit in the shirt department. And this does the trick! Pair the outfit with a cool pair of black leather wedges and voila!

Pleasure Doing Business Disco Skirt in Blue, $154

Image

Ahhh, how can I not want to rock a skirt with “disco” in it’s name? Yes, this is definitely my thing! The best part about it (besides the glitter) is how supple the material is while still maintaining a stretchiness. This equals ultimate fit without any of those nasty lumps and bumps you might get in a regular spandex skirt. No Spanx required!

This is the ultimate skirt for the girl who likes being the center of attention. And who can take a compliment!

Wildfox Kids “Never Grow Up” Sweatshirt, $72

Image

Like most of the kids clothes at Frankie’s, I want this shirt. Now. Sadly, I am not longer a size 12Y :( :( Guess I’ll have to settle for writing about this adorable sweatshirt.

The phrase on the front totally reminds me of “Peter Pan,” which was one of my favorite movies growing up. I just love the message–obviously we all have to grow up, but it’s important to maintain your childlike innocence and keep having fun all through life.

I would pair this sweatshirt with a number of items in the store and online, but my obsession with the Perfect Black Legging forced me to choose the gold zipper leggings below as this sweatshirt’s perfect companion. Throw on a cool pair of gold flip-flops or a some fun flats and you’ve got yourself a casual-yet-chic ensemble, perfect for school, running errands with your mom, or weekend trip to the movies.

Me. n. U. Zip Bottom Leggings in Black, $54

Image

Take a look and tell me you can’t think of five bajillion outfits you could create with these funky leggings. Spring, summer, fall, winter…they work in every season, go with everything, and are my pick for “must-own” pants.

Although I’ve paired them with a sweatshirt here, you can dress them up with a cool sheer blouse and tank top for dinner out. That’s what I love about these leggings–they’re so multipurpose! I actually own an adult version and have worn them so many times I decided to buy several pairs.

So, there ya go–my picks for the week! Make sure you send me pictures of yourself wearing these or any other fab clothes you pick up at Frankie’s–

Girl of the Week

It was so much fun to hang out with Maddie and Toby this week for Girl of the Week! These sisters are quite the funny duo and we love the outfits they styled! Plus we even got to see them bust out some dance moves, which is always a great end to a Girl of the Week photo shoot!

(Shop their looks: Maddie’s Cuffed Capris, Toby’s Blue Skinny Jeggings and Boots, Maddie’s Blue Sequin Dress, Toby’s Brown Crochet Dress)

For those of you unfamiliar, once a week we host an in-store photo shoot with any and all of our loyal customers. The girl’s get to come in on their own or with friends and get to style their own looks for a photo shoot. Each week I take tons and tons of pictures, but until now I haven’t had a great venue through which to share the photos. From now on, every Friday I will be sharing the new Girl of the Week photo shoots. Girls of the Week past will also be able to access their photos forever in our blog archive! We have already filled out slots through May, but we will let you know when we start schedule the next round of photo shoots!

Patterson J. Kincaid Serrano Tank, $98

How awesome is the back of this shirt? I recommend a ponytail to show it off!

When I first saw this tank, I couldn’t stop staring–it is just so me, and one of those items that’s a wear-a-million-times shirt–something I’m always looking for in a top. Since the shirt is made of sheer fabric, it’s dressy enough to wear to a nice dinner out, but still casual enough to wear during the day. And check out the back–how cute is the grosgrain criss-cross? So preppy!

Off the top of my head, here are few places I think I’d wear this shirt:

  • Any graduation–eighth grade, high school, etc. This would be absolutely adorable with a pair white skinny pants and espadrille wedges. Obviously, if you’re the graduate, you’ll want a dress–see below for my picks!
  • Dinner out at the new Rockit Burger Bar in Wrigleyville–been dying to try this place! Apparently they have the best burgers in Chicago. Let me know if you’ve been!
  • Vacation! I’m going to Nantucket this summer and can’t wait to wear this over a navy bandeau bra and red shorts. Perfect for the Fourth of July!
Pleasure Doing Business Pearl Sweetheart Dress, $396

Reminds me of something Dakota Fanning would wear on the red carpet. I just love it!

All I have to say…AHHH!! GET ME THIS DRESS, STAT! It’s just so sophisticated, sweet, and edgy–all at once! I chose to highlight this dress in white because I’m addicted to neutrals, but we also have it in a beautiful muted blue, which I think would look particularly gorgeous on anyone with dark hair. It almost reminds me of something Alice from Alice in Wonderland would wear–very whimsical and sweet.

And the best part? It’s made of thick stretchy panels, ensuring a flattering fit on just about everyone.

Expect mucho compliments in this dress–make sure you have your “thank you” shoes on, because you’ll be saying it a lot!

I suggest any of these occasions to debut this stunner:

  • Graduations (perfect for the graduate or the adoring friend or family member!)
  • Dances (high school, sorority formal, etc.)
  • Bar/bat mitzvahs
  • Fancy tea party (don’t forget your cardigan!
Now onto my picks for stylish little girls everywhere…
Vintage Havana Rainbow Shorts, $46

These adorable tie-dye shorts are literally stain-proof--ideal for all those summer popsicle spills!

If only these came in my size…sigh!

Can you say “happy”?! I can’t imagine a cooler pair of shorts that will carry you through the entire summer. Just looking at them makes me smile!

Very colorful shorts can be an intimidating prospect for anyone used to plain denim, but fear not! The beauty of these shorts is that they actually match most tops. White, pink, blue, yellow–you name it!

Personally, I would wear them with a fun graphic tee or tank top. You can also dress them up for dinner with a pretty cardigan and a sparkly headband. And the best part? Any Bug Juice spills or Popsicle stains will blend right in!

Stella M’Lia Strapless Bubble Dress in Bubble Gum, $236

Detailed stitching and a gorgeous sheen make this dress a serious show-stopper

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I have yet to see a more enchanting dress and can only imagine how beautiful this would look on any little girl with a desire to be princess for a day.

The colors remind me of a Moroccan sunset–pinks, oranges, yellows and purples. Perfect for any special summer occasion, and paired with purple tights, it would make a fabulous holiday dress later this year.

So there you have it–my picks for the week! Make sure to stop into the store and check out these fabulous duds for yourself–and while you’re at it, stop by the upstairs Galleria and say hi to me! :)

Girl of the Week

This week’s Girl of the Week is a little different than normal. Two weeks ago we hosted an in-store event about child modeling, bringing in a modeling agency veteran to talk to parents about the industry. While the parents were busy gabbing, two of the girls and I snuck off to take some pictures. Rachel and Olivia were such naturals in front of the camera and I just look all the looks they styled.

It was fun to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather with these girls! For those of you unfamiliar, once a week we host an in-store photo shoot with any and all of our loyal customers.
