We had so much fun with this week’s Girl of the Week Nina, celebrating the fast-approaching end of school! Nina styled some great summer looks, played around with some of the fun things in Frankie’s Galleria, and told me about her summer to-do list! On Nina’s list for the summer are fun things like bikes rides, lemonade stands, reading outside, ice-cream, pool and beach visits, and so much more! Sounds like so much fun, hope we get to join in on some of the fun!

So cute, right!? We agree with Nina, it is time for summer!!! It’s almost time again to restart sign ups for girl of the week, so we’ll let you know as soon as we’re ready and you can call the store at (773) 248-0400 to sign up to come in and model!

Ooh, so summery out!! How happy are you?! Honestly, if this isn’t shorts and t-shirt weather, I don’t know what is!!

With this in mind, I made sure to pick some fabulous spring-into-summer transition pieces to highlight this week. Wildfox is quickly becoming my fave brand EVER (the graphics are just too much!) and I think you’ll agree that these new arrivals take the cake in terms of cute, clever, and all around adorable! No space in your closet?? BETTER MAKE SOME!

Normally I start with big girl clothes, but I’ll give the littles some love and start with them this week. Might have something to do with the fact that I’m just a little obsessed with these graphics…

Wildfox Kids Pink Stars Tank

Simple? Yes. Perfect? Also yes. There’s just something happy about A) carnation pink, and B) gold stars!

If I were lucky enough to still fit into kid’s sizes, I’d probably pair this tank with some super-cute white skinny jeans or white cut-off shorts. Regular denim? Also a totally fab option. Throw your hair in some cute pigtails and you’re ready to rock! Also, how cool is the pocket? Not to over-do my love here, but I really think pockets are a very under-utilized weapon in fashion’s arsenal!

By the way, should be mentioned that all Wildfox tees are super-soft and comfy, making them PERFECT for running around at camp, school, etc.

Wildfox Kids Shells Dress 

First thing I thought of when I saw this: SO MULTI-PURPOSE! And if you’ve been reading my previous blogs, you’ll know that’s ONLY my favorite aspect of any piece of clothing! I just love pieces that can be worn as many times as possible and in as many situations as possible.

The obvious choice here is to rock this dress at school with a pair of gladiator sandals or Converse sneaks. But wait–the possibilities are so much more!!! Other outfit combos I suggest are:

• Cute flats for a dinner out with the fam.
• Flip-flops for a day at the beach (come on, the shells just SCREAM “beach cover-up”).
• Hunter wellies and a pink cardigan for a rainy day!

See why I love multi-purpose? Hmm, me too! My love is reaffirmed!

BIG GIRL TIME!!! (I’m in an excited mood, can you tell???)

Pleasure Doing Business Yellow/Pink Skirt

I’m such a sucker for these skirts! They conform to any body type and just add a certain chic-ness to any outfit–thinking that has something to do with the awesomely substantial fabric, which is NOT thin–it will NOT show bumps, lumps, and anything else we all try to hide! I think I should reserve a section in my closet STRICTLY for Pleasure Doing Business skirts!

The best thing about this skirt though, is, obviously the color. I mean, HELLO, do you have eyeballs?! The one and only Lisa Burik actually let me help pick out this skirt when she was buying for the store, and trust me, it’s even better in person!

Personally, I’d pair this super-cool neon baby with a flowy black shirt, a gigantic necklace, and some bomb-dot-com black wedges. EEK! I’m just freaking out now thinking about the possibilities.

And, by the way, who do you know who has a neon yellow-and-pink skirt? Yeah, no one! Me either! You’ll definitely be the star of the show!

Wildfox Guacamole is Extra Crop Tee

I admit it. I saved the most awesome for last.

Oh. My. God. I just laughed my head when I saw this! Not only is the shape totally current (the crop tee is very in right now!), the message is just too much! I don’t know about you, but I can relate to anything involving guacamole. And how much I love it. Soo…that being said, why not shout to the world that you WILL pay the extra $2 at Chipotle for that dollop of green goodness?!

Again, in true Wildfox fashion, this tee is made of a high-quality cotton that is super-soft and won’t lose it’s shape. I’d pair this with some cut-off denim shorts and big earrings.

Hi girls!

Beautiful weather we’ve been having here in Chicago, huh? NOT! Let’s try to endure the yucky, rainy weather together by celebrating one fabulous part of this gray Monday: new arrivals at Frankie’s!

Up first, some adorable picks for the mini fashionistas looking to strut their stuff through the hallways of elementary and middle school. Once again I’m desperate for these clothes to come in my size…guess I’ll just have to deal with admiring them on our super-cool customers!

Splendid Girl Polka Dot Tank, $66

Pink you need a new shirt??? ME TOO! And this one is adorable

Nothing like a cheerful pink racerback tank to celebrate the start of summer! Last week I mentioned how much I love white jeans–I think this top would look fabulous with a pair, too! Dress it up for dinner with a white cardigan and some sparkly ballet flats or dress it down for a shopping trip with a fun pair of cutoff shorts. The great this about this top is its versatility–the pink is happy and bright, but the print is subtle enough to work in many situations. I also think this is a GREAT shirt to wear to school–just make sure you don’t have art class that day. Definitely don’t want to get any paint on this–it’ll quickly become a staple of your wardrobe!

Wildfox Kids Baggy Beach Sweater, $73

See, there IS a positive aspect to rainy days!

Get cozy in this rainbow sweater by Wildfox Kids…on a chilly spring day, there’s nothing better than splashing around in a puddle in your Hunter rain boots and a super-soft, lightweight sweater.

Personally, I think this sweater is just begging to be paired with a cool headband. I’d probably choose one that’s a little on the less-girly side–maybe something edgy, with studs, to give the already super-girly outfit a funkier feel. But, hey, it’s your call–that’s what fashion and Frankie’s is all about! This would look equally adorable with a ponytail, a big bow, some sparkly barrettes, or even a baseball hat!

Now, onto the BG’s…(the Big Girls…duh!)

Sam Edelman Gladiator Sandals, $100

Ancient Romans certainly were onto something fashion-wise!

If you buy one pair of non-flip-flop sandals this summer (because let’s be honest, we all need flip-flops!), let these be them.

Yes, I know they are a little cray (crazy…yes…I abbreviated!), but you’d be surprised how well leopard matches or compliments most other prints. And that’s the great thing about shoes–they don’t have to completely “match” your outfit, and in many cases, your outfit becomes 10 times more interesting and unique when you have something unexpected on your feet!

Pair these babies with skinny jeans (white, denim, black, etc.), a flouncy skirt or dress, a pair of cutoff shorts, you name it–they’ll look faboosh!

Wildfox Big Heart Top, $60

Show the world how much you love life…and this top!

It’s not hard to sell anyone on a flouncy tank with a gigantic heart on it…and if I found one person who didn’t love this top, they must be pretty, well, heartless!

My favorite thing about this top (besides the heart…duh…) is the shape. It is a true “bell” shirt, flattering all body types while still being super comfy.

I would probably wear this shirt with my favorite pair of tight black skinny pants (they are almost like leggings, but thicker) and my studded black flats. This shirt would also look bomb-dot-com with jeans or shorts–another versatile summer piece to add to your warm-weather wardrobe.

We had to much fun with Olivia this week for Girl of the Week! Olivia is such a fashionista, and we love all the cute looks she’s styled.

For those of you unfamiliar, once a week we host an in-store photo shoot with any and all of our loyal customers. The girl’s get to come in on their own or with friends and get to style their own looks for a photo shoot. Each week I take tons and tons of pictures, but until now I haven’t had a great venue through which to share the photos. From now on, every Friday I will be sharing the new Girl of the Week photo shoots. Girls of the Week past will also be able to access their photos forever in our blog archive! We have already filled out slots through May, but we will let you know when we start schedule the next round of photo shoots!
